We are seeking a Community Partnership Manager to lead our community outreach efforts and promote the construction industry across the Pacific Northwest. This role is responsible for building relationships with schools, workforce programs, and community organizations to create pathways into construction careers. It also includes supporting Deacon's community engagement initiatives and strengthening partnerships with Minority and Women-Owned Business Enterprises (MWBE) on our Affordable Housing and Public Works projects. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys relationship-building, community impact, and supporting project teams through both strategic initiatives and day-to-day coordination. The Community Partnership Manager plays a key role in promoting the construction industry, building community partnerships, supporting MWBE participation, and advancing community engagement initiatives, while also providing project-level support to ensure compliance, accountability, and strong communication across teams. This role works closely with estimators, project managers, executives, and community partners to support public and affordable housing efforts, strengthen relationships with small and emerging businesses, and promote inclusive pathways into the construction industry.

Requirements

  • A combination of education, training, and relevant work experience that supports success in community engagement, outreach, project coordination, or related work
  • Experience gained through school, internships, volunteer work, community organizations, or professional roles involving coordination, organization, or stakeholder engagement
  • Interest in or exposure to community outreach, workforce development, or public works environments
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and follow-through
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and support both strategic initiatives and hands-on project work
  • Clear and professional communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Comfort working with spreadsheets, documents, and tracking information
  • A collaborative, proactive mindset and a genuine interest in promoting the construction industry and supporting community growth

Responsibilities

  • Represent Deacon at career fairs, community events, association meetings, and outreach initiatives
  • Build and maintain relationships with high schools, colleges, workforce programs, and cultural organizations
  • Promote careers in construction and alternative pathways into the industry, including pre-apprenticeship, workforce development, and re-entry programs
  • Support engagement with the Deacon Charitable Foundation and community-based initiatives
  • Support and help lead Deacon's community engagement initiatives
  • Manage and track the community engagement budget to ensure resources are used effectively and responsibly
  • Support and help lead Deacon's Women's Resource Group
  • Build and strengthen relationships with MWBE subcontractors and partner organizations such as Northwest Minority Business Alliance (NWMBA), Housing Development Consortium (HDC), Affordable Housing Consortium (AHC), Housing Washington, and similar organizations
  • Assist MWBE subcontractors with obtaining necessary certifications (e.g., Office of Minority and Women’s Business Enterprises (OMWBE), City of Seattle, King County, Pierce County, and others) for Public Works projects
  • Work closely with estimators and project teams to identify and engage MWBE subcontractors for bids and proposals
  • Maintain accurate databases of MWBE partners, certifications, and public or affordable housing projects
  • Support MWBE participation tracking, reporting, and compliance requirements
  • Support outreach and compliance for specific affordable project requirements (e.g., Section 3 outreach and compliance, Apprenticeship outreach and compliance, Build America Buy America (BABA) documentation)
  • Support project teams with MWBE tracking, documentation, and reporting for public and affordable housing projects
  • Assist with organizing and compiling compliance materials for bids, proposals, and active projects
  • Coordinate meetings with community partners and internal stakeholders, including agendas and follow-ups
  • Track commitments, deadlines, and deliverables related to MWBE participation and outreach goals
  • Maintain organized project files, spreadsheets, and reports to support leadership and project teams
  • Serve as a coordination point between project teams, estimators, and community partners to ensure information flows smoothly
