Job Overview The Community Outreach Specialist is responsible for the day-to-day duties of the Mobile Unit, including driving the Mobile Unit (MU) to and from community events. Responsibilities will include completing an equipment and quality checklist for the MU, inspecting the unit for safe travels, and maintenance of the vehicle, developing and retaining community relationships with local community-based organizations, and participation and management of the community outreach and engagement events. The Specialist will represent AltaMed and work with other organizations/companies to increase the organization’s visibility in the community. The Specialist is also responsible for organizing, planning, and preparing needed materials for community events. The Specialist will engage in activities such as maintaining program services, outreach activities, mobile unit calendar, mobile unit website, and meeting deadlines. The Specialist will track outcomes through data management application software such as CRM, Microsoft Excel, and other database software. This position will also design, present, and disseminate culturally appropriate health education information and materials in the community.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Health Science or related field required; an emphasis in Community Health Education preferred.
  • A minimum of 2 years working in a community health-based setting or related field is required.
  • Valid CA Driver's License with no restrictions or major infractions required.

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) is preferred due to the population being served.
