About The Position

EAC Network, a not-for-profit social service agency that empowers, assists, and cares for over 70,000 people in need through 120 programs across Long Island and NYC, seeks a Community Outreach Coordinator for our Brooklyn CLEAR (Collaborative Legal Engagement Assistance Response) program. The Community Outreach Coordinator will serve as a liaison between the Brooklyn CLEAR program and the community. With direction from the Supervisor the Community Outreach Coordinator will raise awareness of the program by participating in community networking events, precinct rolls calls, pilot initiatives, committee meetings, health fairs, and pop-up events.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent required; higher education in community engagement, criminal justice, public health, social work, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience in community outreach, public speaking, or training facilitation strongly preferred.
  • Naloxone training certification required within one month of hire
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage diverse participants often engaged in the criminal justice system.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team
  • Ability to collect, organize, and report data accurately.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of harm reduction strategies and overdose prevention, including Narcan administration, a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a liaison between the Brooklyn CLEAR program and the criminal justice community.
  • Raise awareness of the program through participation in community networking events, precinct roll calls, pilot initiatives, committee meetings, health fairs, and pop-up events.
  • Conduct Narcan trainings and promote overdose prevention strategies.
  • Represent the program through public speaking engagements and presentations.
  • Collect, track, and report outreach and engagement data.
  • Build and maintain relationships with community partners, stakeholders, and service providers
  • Support pilot initiatives and program development activities as directed by the Supervisor.
  • Provide program information and resources to community members, service providers, and law enforcement partners.
  • Participate in community-based outreach efforts to promote program visibility.
  • Travel locally, as needed, to attend outreach events, meetings, and trainings.
  • Perform all other relevant duties as determined by Supervision and EAC NETWORK Administration.
