About The Position

MSK’s Immigrant Health & Cancer Disparities (IHCD) team is hiring a Community Outreach Coordinator (COC) to support the Integrated Cancer Care Access Network (ICCAN) — an initiative focused on addressing social determinants of health among immigrant and medically underserved communities. The COC plays a key role in managing food pantry sites, conducting needs assessments, connecting patients to services, and supporting research and outreach projects — all while using Spanish language skills to build trust and improve access to care.

Requirements

  • Fluent in Spanish (spoken and written)
  • 2+ years of experience in community outreach or health-related service/research preferred
  • Passion for health equity and knowledge of immigrant communities
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Experience with data entry and using SPSS/RedCap is a plus
  • Willingness to travel across NYC to outreach sites via public transit

Responsibilities

  • Manage 2–3 food pantry sites a week and support outreach at pantry locations across NYC.
  • Provide case management using our Essential Needs Assessment to support patients.
  • Help participants navigate telehealth and provide education through our Access to Telehealth (AcT) project.
  • Assist in preparing monthly reports on outreach, research, and educational activities.
  • Attend required trainings, workshops, and meetings to stay current on project goals and outreach/research procedures.
  • Ensure proper completion and documentation of consent and research authorization forms per MSK and regulatory guidelines.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with community partners by supporting local initiatives and events.
  • Represent MSK at community events for Spanish-speaking and immigrant communities.
  • Support special projects or research efforts, including work related to the IRB, Office of Clinical Research, or regulatory compliance.
  • Conduct outreach with Spanish-speaking health care providers, community-based organizations, advocacy groups, ethnic media, and local leaders.
