About The Position
The Center for Youth: Started BY YOUTH FOR YOUTH. We partner with youth to realize their full potential, by creating opportunities, removing barriers and promoting social justice. Overview: The Street Outreach Program provides on-the-street services, including crisis and survival care and referral information to street youth in an attempt to increase their personal safety and encourage them to partner with us to leave the streets for a more stable living environment. The Community Navigator engages homeless youth with the goal of increasing their access to community resources and natural safety nets. This position will assist homeless youth and young adults in crisis intervention, problem solving, action planning, and skill building, to address immediate life and safety issues, reduce the risk of sexual exploitation and abuse, and reduce or prevent incidents of homelessness.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degreen in Human Services or related field AND 1year related experience OR equivalent combination
- A valid driver's license
- Strong knowledge of community resources
- Strong literacy and communication skills
- Strong knowledge of adolescent development including positive youth development, asset development, risk reduction, and protective factors
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Advanced knowledge of Internet Explorer
Responsibilities
