About The Position

Full Time Community Liaison - Prevention Education and Community Engagement Program Location: Based out of Samaritan Hospital with some travel required Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm (some evenings are required) The Community Liaison (Prevention Education) is responsible for coordinating and delivering prevention education programs across schools (elementary, middle, high schools), colleges, and community organizations throughout the Capital Region. This role involves the development of educational curricula, the delivery of training sessions, and collaboration with allied professionals to support crime prevention education initiatives. The Community Liaison will work directly with schools, colleges, and community organizations to reach over 10,000 individuals annually, while maintaining strong partnerships and supporting the agency’s mission to educate and prevent crime victimization. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the community by promoting crime prevention education and supporting the well-being of individuals in the Capital Region.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in psychology, Social Work, Criminal Justice, or a related field is required.
  • A minimum of one year of experience working with crime victims.
  • At least one year of public speaking or experience in delivering prevention education.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the dynamics of crime victimization is required.
  • Reliable transportation to travel to various locations for training, meetings, and outreach programs is required.
  • Sexual Assault Counselor certification by the New York State Department of Health is required to effectively respond to disclosures during or after prevention education programming. (If not currently certified, the agency will provide certification at no cost.)
