About The Position

Reporting to the Manager, Community Investment, the Community Investment Specialist supports the planning, coordination, and execution of vendor fundraising initiatives and experiential engagement opportunities on behalf of The Home Depot Canada Foundation (THDCF). With a primary focus on curated supplier fundraising experiences, this role is responsible for delivering high-quality, mission-driven experiences that strengthen relationships with the Foundation’s vendor and supplier community and advance the Foundation’s goal to prevent and end youth homelessness. The Specialist works closely with internal partners and external stakeholders to support experiences, fundraising engagements, and signature fundraising events. This role also provides operational and administrative support to THDCF’s communications, events, and storytelling efforts that bring the Foundation’s impact to life.

Requirements

  • Must meet minimum time in position requirements and hold a Performance Management code of “V2” (Valued Associate – Well Positioned)
  • Bachelor’s Degree (BA) or equivalent in a related field; social sciences, communications, events, or hospitality an asset
  • Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in event coordination, experiential marketing, fundraising events, or non-profit program delivery
  • Demonstrated experience planning travel-based programs, trips, conferences, or multi-day experiences
  • Strong project coordination skills with the ability to manage timelines, logistics, and budgets simultaneously
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in fast-paced environments with competing priorities
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders
  • Proven client service or stakeholder-facing experience
  • CRM or grant management system experience an asset; proficient in Microsoft Office
  • French language skills are an asset
  • Ability to travel domestically approximately 10–15%

Responsibilities

  • Vendor Experiences & Trip Planning Plan, coordinate, and execute THDCF’s Supplier Experiences, including multi-day trips, site visits, and immersive engagements aligned to the Foundation’s mission
  • Manage logistical elements of supplier travel experiences, including communications, itineraries, transportation, accommodations, schedules, budgets, and on-site execution
  • Partner with grantees and community organizations to facilitate meaningful on-the-ground experiences that highlight impact and outcomes
  • Ensure each experience is thoughtfully designed to drive engagement, storytelling, and long-term supplier relationships. Includes program tracking, reporting, and evaluation to assess effectiveness and inform improvements.
  • Fundraising & Event Management Support the planning and execution of key annual fundraising events, including the Spring Gala and The Home Depot Canada Charity Classic
  • Assist with vendor fundraising initiatives and third-party events to support annual revenue goals
  • Contribute to the delivery of Community Builds and experiential fundraising opportunities
  • Stakeholder Management and Administrative Support Support ongoing engagement with vendor partners, merchandising department, and vendor donors, including Supplier Advisory Committee-related activities
  • Assist in preparing meeting materials, agendas, and presentations for fundraising-related committees (e.g. SAC and Merch Sub-Committee)
  • Collaborate with internal teams (Communications, PR, Marketing) to elevate stories emerging from supplier experiences
  • Build strong working relationships with associates across the business, including Foundation leadership, field associates, merchandising, finance, operations, and U.S. counterparts
  • Represent The Home Depot Canada Foundation at internal and external events as required
  • Demonstrate a working understanding of youth homelessness and community investment principles
