Position Overview The Community Impact Officer is responsible for implementing assigned aspects of Mid Penn Bank’s Community Reinvestment Act (“CRA”) Compliance program in alignment with the goals and objectives established by both regulation and Board/policy directives.  This individual acts as a liaison between the bank and community stakeholders, ensuring the bank's activities and support align with its social responsibility and contribute to the well-being of the community.  The Community Impact Officer represents the bank as a leader in the community, projecting a positive image to include serving on boards/ committees or taskforces that support low- and moderate-income communities and attend community events related to Community Reinvestment Act /community development.

Requirements

  • A B.S. or B.A. degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field of study; specialized marketing and compliance education and training or experience is preferred.
  • A minimum of three (3) years' experience in related positions normally required.
  • Proficient reading, writing, grammar, and mathematics skills; proficient interpersonal relations and communicative skills; thorough knowledge of the Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) as well as all applicable federal, state, and local regulations; working knowledge of loan policies and procedures, underwriting guidelines, and loan documents; proficiency in analyzing, interpreting, and implementing marketing strategy; proficient composition skills; proficient PC skills; ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, stoop, reach with hands or arms, use hands to manipulate objects, handle or feel, and lift items weighing 40 lbs. or less; visual, auditory and speaking skills; valid driver’s license is required.

Responsibilities

  • Implements assigned aspects of Mid Penn Bank’s Community Reinvestment Act Compliance program and works collaboratively with team to develop and refine program objectives and tasks.
  • Manages assigned regional charitable contributions budget and local giving to ensure charitable investments align with the bank’s strategic priorities.
  • Identifies and evaluates community and economic development partnerships that can impact the bank’s philanthropic investments and nonprofit sponsorships.
  • Works independently to achieve assigned goals and collaborates with department management to ensure collective efforts are made to support overall department objectives.
  • Quantifies results of community impact efforts and makes recommendations for year over year improvements in financial literacy arena and identifies other opportunities for the company to expand its effective social responsibility presence in our communities.
  • Supports the CRA & Community Impact Department process in assigned region for receiving, reviewing, and tracking all written and verbal requests for donations, EITC and sponsorships to local charities, non-profit 501(c)3 organizations, community relations programs, and first responders. Oversees company-wide community campaigns taking a lead in assigned region(s).
  • Promotes and advocates for employee involvement on non-profit boards and committees specifically targeting board treasurer and finance committees to fit CRA requirements within the entire footprint of the bank.
  • Assists with the oversight of the company’s volunteer program to involve employees in charitable events/programs that benefit non-profit organizations in our footprint, including the tracking of volunteers and volunteer hours within assigned region(s).
  • Partners with calling officers on calls to non-profit organizations and government agencies in assigned regions.
  • Assists with the coordination, support and attendance at community dinners and special functions as needed and at the direction of the Director of CRA and Community Impact and/or Regional CRA Officer.
  • Assists with the coordination in-kind donations to local non-profit organizations.
  • Engages in public relations activities and identifies potential storytelling opportunities that may enhance or positively impact the reputation of the organization.
  • Tracks and reports on community impact efforts in assigned region accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Responds to inquiries relating to his/her area, or to requests from customers, other personnel, etc., within given time frames and within established policy.
  • Performs special projects as needed.
