This position contributes to the development of the community engagement strategy, manages Unitus’ employee volunteerism programs, spearheads the planning and execution of annual fundraisers, collection drives, and community outreach events. This position also supports the organization’s foundation, sponsorship deliverables, and creates engaging stories and communications to highlight our community engagement efforts. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, public relations, or communications, or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in community engagement, event coordination sponsorships, or organizing and executing community focused special events or projects; must include experience communicating effectively with community leaders to assess program development and impact, clarify expectations, measure ROI, and identify and leverage emerging opportunities.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with non-profit organizations or financial institutions is preferred
  • Spanish language skills preferred

Responsibilities

  • Manage volunteerism programs that build relationships with and supports local nonprofits, including volunteer time off benefits, company-sponsored volunteer events, and employee charitable match donations.
  • Respond to and manage volunteer requests.
  • Maintains employee volunteer and giving records and utilizing the Unitus Gives volunteer platform.
  • Represents the credit union at community partner special events, meetings and committees.
  • Partner with the internal departments, Financial Wellness, DEIA committee, and employee resource groups (ERG) to identify and facilitate employee volunteer activities.
  • Manages all community events including staffing, budgeting, planning, and hosting. Events may include community outreach through neighborhood events, sponsorship events, and signature events. Sources and manages all event vendors and resources within budget and established guidelines.
  • Acts as an event management resource for the financial wellness team and credit union departments as needed.
  • Maintains ongoing calendar for organization events.
  • Create and execute annual fundraising events to support the credit union and organization's foundation. Accountable for the achievement and execution of revenue targets fundraising events.
  • Collaborate with Sr. Community Impact and Programs Specialist and cross-functional teams to ensure successful execution of sponsorships, including branding and benefits.
  • Oversees distribution, maintenance, and ordering of all event supplies and collateral needs. Coordinates Supplies/Giveaways/Collateral for Events and Sponsorships.
  • Assists in generating compelling communications and content that effectively showcase our community engagement efforts and storytelling.
