About The Position

The Community Health Coordinator will lead the strategic development, coordination, and execution of community health and wellness initiatives for the Thomas E. Hannah and Willis Road YMCAs. The role will include managing evidence-based health programs while promoting community engagement in physical activity, nutrition, and holistic wellness. This position requires collaboration with staff, volunteers, healthcare providers, and community stakeholders to deliver impactful programs that foster a healthier, more connected community. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Human Services, Exercise Science, Community Development, or related field
  • Must have current Adult CPR, AED, and First Aid certifications, or complete within first 60 days of employment.
  • Must hold a current certification in personal training (CPT) from a nationally accredited certification program (ACE, ACSM, AFAA, ISSA, NASM, or NSCA), or obtain within the first 180 days of employment.
  • Strong organizational and administrative skills, with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Passion for promoting health and wellness within the community.
  • Must have good interpersonal relationship skills.
  • Must be initiative-taking and be able to work as part of a team.
  • Must believe in the mission of the YMCA and be able to exhibit the mission statement in both personal and professional life.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in community outreach, health promotion, or program management preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Program Development and Execution: Lead the development and scaling of innovative health and wellness programs that address the physical, mental, and emotional needs of YMCA members.
  • Ensure evidence-based practices are integrated into programs like Livestrong & Parkinson’s.
  • Establish program goals, benchmarks, and evaluation frameworks to measure success.
  • Provide requirements and aid in onboarding appropriate staff for facilitation and execution of EBHI & Parkinson’s programs.
  • Research and implement best practices in community health programming.
  • Assist Senior Director of Health & Wellness with developing strategic partnerships with healthcare providers, public health agencies, and community organizations to expand program reach and impact.
  • Ensure program consistency and effectiveness.
  • Participate in grant writing and fundraising campaigns in collaboration with Marketing and the Mission Advancement team Data Management and Reporting Maintain accurate records and databases for program participation and outreach activities.
  • Develop reports on program performance, participant success stories, and community engagement metrics.
  • Provide data insights to support grant applications and strategic decision-making
