About The Position

Community Habilitation Supervisor drives community integration and personal growth for individuals with developmental disabilities through the strategic supervision of support staff, ensuring every interaction promotes autonomy and a high quality of life. Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and seven -years' experience in direct support working with the developmentally disabled or related experience and/or training with at least two years of supervisory experience.
  • OR Associate’s Degree with 5 years of relevant experience and a year of supervisory experience.
  • Word processing, E-mail and database software, apple and google suite programs.
  • A valid NYS driver's license and ability to drive and driving record acceptable for agency insurance coverage are required.
  • Daily access to a vehicle.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s Degree is with minimum of 3 years of relevant experience working in direct support working with the developmentally disabled

Responsibilities

  • Assists in coordinating, supervising, developing staff and managing work schedules.
  • Participates in the interviewing and hiring of new Direct Support Professionals.
  • Works collaboratively with individuals & families as appropriate, including visits, follow-up phone calls and initial meetings to connect families, individuals and the new staff providing services.
  • Participates in habilitation plan development, including participation in Life Plan meetings and the person-centered planning process.
  • Maintains a community-based approach and participates in activities to build competencies and integrate individuals into their communities.
  • Completes, monitors and trains staff on roles and responsibilities of their job as needed per each staff
  • Helps ensure appropriate safeguards for individuals are developed and maintained.
  • Attends, participates and may facilitate staff meetings.
