About The Position

Performs a variety of duties associated with the operation of community events. Assists Community Events Coordinator(s) with a variety of operational duties including but not limited to: volunteer directing, event day set-up/break-down, pre-event meetings, event registration and check-in and other duties associated with the event. Works in conjunction with other HRCA staff members, including a team of Community Event Associates, volunteers, and vendors to provide a safe and enjoyable event, as well as high-quality customer service.

Requirements

  • Basic knowledge of race management and volunteer coordinating.
  • Ability to work in a stressful environment on race day.
  • Ability to effectively communicate, both verbal and written, with internal and external customers.
  • Ability to handle conflict in a positive manner.
  • Able to drive your own vehicle or a company vehicle on event business.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license, a clean motor vehicle record, and meet all HRCA driving policy standards, including pre-approval to drive from the HRCA insurance carrier.
  • CPR/First Aid certification required.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age or older.
  • Must pass a pre-employment background check and drug screening.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent is desired.

Nice To Haves

  • Interest in community involvement, events, performing arts, live music, etc.
  • Alcohol safety/TIPS certification desired.

Responsibilities

  • Assists Community Event Coordinator(s) in organizing, sorting and cleaning event supplies.
  • Works directly with Community Event Coordinator(s) to direct volunteers on the day of event.
  • Provides exceptional customer service to event participants.
  • Models appropriate attire and professionalism in direct customer service.
  • Presents a patient and positive attitude/approach in working with participants, vendors, sponsors, and other staff members.
  • Ensures the safety of event participants, vendors, sponsors, volunteers, and other staff by notifying Community Event Coordinator(s) of any hazards.
  • Participates in the mission of the organization of “Enhancing property values and creating quality of life through recreation, community events, and leadership.”
  • Performs related duties as assigned and required.
