About The Position

The Community Engagement Specialist serves as the face of Jon Wayne Heating & Air Conditioning, bringing our brand to life both online and in the communities we serve. This hybrid role blends social media management, event planning, and hands‑on community involvement to build strong brand recognition, trust, and engagement. We’re looking for a go‑getter with a bright, bubbly, people‑first personality who thrives on connecting with others and representing a brand with pride. This position plays a key role in strengthening relationships with customers, community partners, and internal employees through thoughtfully planned events, authentic brand engagement, and consistent social media interaction. Approximately 60% of this role focuses on community engagement and 40% supports internal employee events and initiatives, with an average of 2–3 events per month.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field (preferred)
  • Proven experience managing social media for a brand or business
  • Experience with event planning, community outreach, or brand engagement
  • Strong understanding of how social media supports business goals
  • Confident, outgoing personality with excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects and events simultaneously
  • Comfortable representing the company publicly and interacting with diverse audiences
  • Reliable transportation with the ability to travel locally as needed

Nice To Haves

  • Experience coordinating vendors, volunteers, and promotional materials is a plus
  • Basic budgeting or expense‑tracking experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Monitor Jon Wayne’s social media channels daily to check messages, comments, and mentions
  • Respond to customer inquiries and community messages in a timely, professional, and on‑brand manner
  • Create and publish engaging social media content that highlights community involvement, events, employees, and brand personality
  • Maintain a consistent and authentic brand voice across platforms
  • Act as a brand ambassador and the public face of Jon Wayne at community events, sponsorships, and outreach initiatives
  • Build and nurture relationships with local organizations, partners, and community members
  • Identify new opportunities to increase brand presence and visibility in the community
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute approximately 2–3 events per month
  • Coordinate logistics including vendors, venues, volunteers, and timelines
  • Organize and manage merchandise, promotional items, and giveaways for events
  • Recruit, coordinate, and support volunteers and employees participating in events
  • Attend events in person as the primary Jon Wayne representative
  • Assist with budgeting for events, merchandise, sponsorships, and giveaways
  • Track expenses and help ensure events stay within approved budgets
  • Recommend cost‑effective ideas to maximize impact while remaining fiscally responsible
  • Work closely with marketing, leadership, and branch teams to align engagement efforts with company goals
  • Support internal culture‑building initiatives and employee engagement events
  • Provide feedback and insights from community interactions to internal teams
