About The Position

The Community Engagement Manager leads a team of Recruitment Specialists in implementing council new member engagement process to increase girl and volunteer membership. This position is responsible for managing the delivery of and assessing comprehensive year-round member recruitment plans. This position is accountable to new member growth key performance indicators and associated goals within assigned area.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field or equivalent experience with three years of directly related work experience.
  • Minimum of two years of managerial experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in customer service, sales, or membership recruitment
  • Ability to be a people leader and organizer.
  • Analytical thinker and ability to solve problems by providing practical solutions.
  • Ability to effectively and professionally present information and respond to questions from internal GSCO staff and external GSCO audience including staff, volunteers, Girl Scouts, parents, and the community.
  • Strong motivational, organizational, detail orientated and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to make a work plan autonomously, track task responsibilities, and implement work plan.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines, both administrative and programmatic, and to multitask and prioritize.
  • Must have the ability to work with and retain sensitive and/or confidential information while understanding and ensuring that it is only shared with those who are privy to such information.
  • Must possess the ability to work with and communicate effectively with employees, volunteers, customers, and vendors verbally and nonverbally both in person and in writing.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age, with 5 years of driving experience.
  • Must possess a valid and current license to operate a standard motor vehicle.
  • Must pass all required background & motor vehicle record checks.
  • Must be fluent in speaking, reading, & writing English.

Responsibilities

  • Manages a team of Community Engagement Specialists in implementing established recruitment methodology and processes with a focus on membership conversion.
  • May manage a New Member Administrative Specialist to proactively provide materials and tools, data insight, troop preparation, and overflow support to Community Engagement in alignment with established recruitment methodology
  • Works as a strategic team with the Member Recruitment Director on annual/seasonal planning as well as targeting recruitment efforts, refining sales processes, identifying needed tools, and developing repeatable event strategies
  • Cultivates relationships with appropriate community, school district and campus leaders to increase visibility of Girl Scouts
  • Develops and maintains partnerships with local school districts
  • Targets efforts of Community Engagement Specialist team based on analysis of community needs, demographic data and membership statistics
  • Acts as a champion for streamlining new member engagement, lead management and nurturing, and refining event strategies
  • Enables two-way communication with Community Engagement Specialists regarding what is or is not working, where risk or opportunities exist in their service area, and ensuring new girls are immediately engaged if no troop is yet assigned
  • Identifies first-year new troop leaders for support and attention by the Volunteer Success group
  • Coaches Community Engagement Specialists in streamlining new member registration process with a focus on quick membership conversion
  • Champions data integrity and tool consistency within Recruitment function
  • Collaborates with other council teams including Marketing, Volunteer Success, Program Delivery, and Community Programs to ensure the effective implementation of the recruitment methodology
  • Works with the Project Solutions team as needed to identify solutions related to the Recruitment team, and oversees successful change management of any GSCO tool or process implementation affecting Member Recruitment
  • Works with the Volunteer Success team to connect first year volunteers and troops with ongoing support and training
  • Ensure compliance with GSCO policies and operational guidelines.
