SUMMARY OF POSITION: Making a difference in our global communities is part of the proud Sherwin-Williams legacy. Our Giving Pillars include enhancing healthy housing and well-being, advancing a skilled workforce, and beautifying and preserving community assets. This role supports execution of Sherwin-Williams Corporate Giving strategy with emphasis on the Sherwin-Williams Foundation and broader community engagement. Responsibilities include stakeholder engagement, day-to-day oversight of programs and grants, and operational management of global community engagement initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Affairs, Nonprofit Management, or related field (Master’s preferred).
  • Minimum 5-7 years of experience in community engagement, corporate social responsibility, or nonprofit program/data management.
  • Demonstrated success in leading cross-functional initiatives and managing complex stakeholder relationships.
  • Strong strategic thinking, communication, and project management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

  • Proficiency in the MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with donation management systems, impact measurement tools, and employee engagement platforms within a corporate environment is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Support and assist the Global Director in leading Community Engagement strategy aligned with enterprise business goals.
  • Provide research and benchmarking to inform best-in-class giving and engagement strategies that will expand the Foundation’s reach nationally and regionally.
  • Implement Community Engagement sponsorships and projects along with Foundation grant programs and initiatives
  • Develop and implement frameworks to measure, analyze and report the progress and impact of giving programs
  • Develop internal and external partnerships and communication strategies to amplify community impact
  • Collaborate with Community Engagement Specialist for effective and efficient program execution
  • Gather and provide concise, effective materials to present to Foundation Board at quarterly meetings
  • Assist in planning and executing Company-wide Community Engagement strategy
  • Provide best practice and benchmarking research
  • Process improvement for tracking and evaluating grants and donations
  • Ensure that program policies and procedures are documented and up to date
  • Act as point of contact for vendors and equipment/software contracts
  • Manage employee giving campaigns and volunteer programs (e.g., Annual Employee Giving Campaign, Harvest for Hunger).
  • Oversee and enhance end-to-end donation processes, including systems evaluation, due diligence, contracts, and compliance for domestic and international giving.
  • Review and compile quarterly grant requests for Foundation Board meetings.
  • Manage U.S.-domestic grant portfolio, including contracts, metrics, and impact reporting.
  • Support improvements to grantmaking processes and reporting.
  • Communicate Foundation decisions to grantees.
  • Cultivate strategic partnerships with nonprofits, civic organizations, and internal stakeholders.
  • Conduct due diligence, site visits, and follow-ups for external requests.
  • Represent the company at select community events including delivering presentations, participating in panel discussions, and engaging in other public‑facing opportunities.
  • Manage external consultants as needed.
  • Lead Foundation compliance reviews; manage fund transfers and grant contracts.
  • Serve as primary contact for giving software vendors (e.g., Blackbaud/YourCause).
  • Provide data and reporting for internal partners including Tax, Finance, Compensation, and Communications.
  • Promote S-W Company and Foundation programs internally
  • Support content development for newsletters, digital channels, and sustainability reports.
  • Collaborate with HR, Corporate Communications, and other internal teams to amplify Community Engagement initiatives.
  • Partner with employee-led groups and manage the HomeWork retiree program.
