The Community Engagement Fellow is a joint role between the International Institute and Counterpublic, supporting community engagement activities and events through the end of 2026. This position serves as a liaison between both organizations, fostering relationships with clients, residents, and stakeholders in the Tower Grove area and across St. Louis. The Fellow supports the International Institute's Public Engagement team in planning and implementing programs such as the Festival of Nations, Community Bazaars, and volunteer events. In partnership with Counterpublic's Director of Community Engagement, they develop and carry out engagement strategies including outreach, tabling, and participation in community events. This role collaborates with staff, artists, and curators to ensure community perspectives are reflected in programming and installations for Counterpublic 2026. The Fellow also gathers community input, documents engagement efforts through storytelling (e.g., interviews, audio, photo/video), and helps build and maintain partnerships-particularly with diverse and intergenerational audiences. The position includes regular in-office time at both organizations, attendance at community meetings and events, and occasional public representation. Responsibilities may evolve based on organizational needs and the Fellow's skills.
