The primary purpose of this position is to train basic vocational skills to small groups of individuals with developmental, behavioral and/or physical disabilities. ALL employees of Murdoch Center are designated as ESSENTIAL for adverse weather and emergency events.

  • Train basic vocational skills to small groups of individuals with developmental, behavioral and/or physical disabilities.
  • Candidates now meet the minimum qualifications of a position if they meet the minimum education and experience listed on the vacancy announcement.
  • Must have ability to obtain NVCI, First Aid, and CPR certifications.
  • The applicant will be required to successfully complete the Murdoch Developmental Center “Basic Training Series”; which includes, but is not limited to program library training, First Aid, Nonviolent Crisis Intervention Techniques (NVCI), CPR, Body Mechanics and lifting.
  • Applicants must have the ability to pass a physical requirements test.
  • Valid driver’s license as applicable.
  • Education and/or experience that is directly related to the job and results in demonstrated possession of knowledge, skills and abilities gained through at least one year of experience performing tasks similar to the ones assigned; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience using behavior management techniques, task analysis techniques and teaching strategies for individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities in a vocational setting.
  • Experience utilizing teaching/training techniques and strategies to promote progress.
  • Ability to functionally use MS Word to type progress/activity notes.
