About The Position

The Salvation Army Maplewood Corps and Community Center located in Maplewood, Missouri, is looking for a Community Center Aide. This position is expected to advance and support the Mission of The Salvation Army.  Position is expected to comply with and meet The Salvation Army, Federal, State and Local policies, and standards. The Community Center Program Aide will be directly responsible to assist in the day-to-day operations of the Community center programs as assigned. This is a part-time position working 13.5 hours per week, with starting pay of $15.00 per hour. 7701 Rannells Ave, St. Louis, MO 63143 Full job description available upon interview. Requirements

  • High School Diploma, previous 2 years' work experience with childcare or related field.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work with diverse cultures.
  • Able to read and write well.
  • Requires basic verbal communications with children and other employees.
  • Valid drivers’ license (including E license to transport children) and pass TSA MVR is a plus.
  • Must be certified by American Red Cross (ARC) in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and First Aid.
  • Must be capable of performing the above essential duties and be able to lift a 40-pound child.

Nice To Haves

  • Valid drivers’ license (including E license to transport children) and pass TSA MVR is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Adhere to Safe From Harm guidelines and embody The Salvation Army’s mission and values.
  • Supervise and direct volunteers, ensuring quality care and Safe From Harm compliance.
  • Create a fun, educational, and orderly environment for children, coordinating games/activities as needed.
  • Communicate schedules, coverage needs, and concerns to Corps Officers and program leaders.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of childcare areas and program spaces before, during, and after shifts.
  • Maintain and record daily attendance and program statistics.
