The CCC Community-Based Worker through The Guidance Center of Westchester will gain up to 120 hours of hands-on work experience. Real-World Work Experience Participants—both youth and young adults—gain hands-on experience through placements in community-based settings. We partner with local businesses and organizations that are committed to mentoring individuals and providing meaningful, on-the-job training. These placements allow participants to: Network with professionals and employers in the community Shadow workers and explore various career paths Work in diverse roles aligned with their individual employment or career goals Each participant receives personalized support from both their Case Worker and our CCC Community-Based Worker Supervisor, who: Match the participant with a suitable work experience opportunity Provide ongoing guidance and support Monitor progress and gather feedback from worksite providers Collect timesheets and manage all required documentation After completing the initial 120 hours of work experience, participants receive continued support from a Job Developer, who helps them: Obtain and maintain employment Connect with job opportunities in their field of interest Prepare for long-term success in the workforce

Requirements

  • This program is designed for individuals aged 16 to 24 years old who are not currently enrolled in school.
  • Participants must have either graduated from high school or officially dropped out.
  • Must be capable of communicating
  • Open to feedback and growing
  • Can follow directives
  • Work alongside co-workers
