About The Position

The Community Based Program Specialist will: Support program delivery including materials management, training, data entry and analysis. Organize and lead youth programs, activities, events and field trips. Skills required to be successful in this role, include, but are not limited to: Youth development program and event design, planning, implementation and evaluation Presentation and facilitation skills (In-person and virtual) Organizational and tracking skills In addition, this individual should demonstrate the following knowledge, skills and behaviors in the execution of this role: Mission Driven: Demonstrates commitment to the mission of the organization as a whole and alignment with organizational values. Has a robust understanding of the community served and the landscape in which the organization operates, and actively applies that knowledge Collaboration: Works effectively in teams and with others to achieve success Communication: Uses effective written and oral communication with volunteers, internal staff, teams, and partners; expresses ideas and facts in a clear and understandable manner; demonstrates empathy and listening Critical Thinking: Consistently identifies, gathers, and applies relevant data and information to their work Growth Mindset: Accepts abilities can be developed through effort; embraces learning as essential to growth and success even during setbacks or significant change Nurture Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging: Understands and effectively contributes to diverse, equitable and inclusive practices and spaces that support girls, adult members, partners and staff in knowing they belong; Demonstrates a personal commitment to being an antiracist organization and dismantling inequitable systems Personal Responsibility for Work: Effectively manages their own work, ensuring delivery of high-quality work Daily, weekly and monthly activities include: Prepare, collect, enter and submit organized and complete participant data and forms and reports in a timely manner, such as attendance, registrations, health evaluation forms, permission slips, etc. Maintain data tracking systems to support the data needs for internal stakeholders Support development of curriculum and program quality training materials Facilitate training of instructional staff on curriculum, program quality, and other relevant areas Collaborate with the Sr. Manager to inventory and order supplies Develop and maintain positive relationships with participants, parents, site administrations, school representatives and other community contacts Coordinate and facilitate events and programs as assigned Attend fieldtrips and substitute for instructors in direct program delivery, as needed

  • Ability to work from home, as needed
  • Able to attend in-person activities/meetings across the assigned territory and/or central office
  • Able to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends
  • 1+ years of college and/or related experience and/or training
  • Proficient in cloud-based applications such as Microsoft Office (including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint) or Google Suite (Google Docs, Sheets, Slides, etc.)
  • Strong interest in understanding and creating safe spaces that empower our youth members (K-12)
  • A minimum of 1 year in working with communities in youth, family and/or volunteer service organizations
  • Valid California driver’s license, access to reliable transportation, and proof of insurance.
  • Able to pass GSNorCal’s background screening process (including fingerprinting, criminal, education, social security and Department of Motor Vehicle verification)
