Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in human services, early childhood education, social work, health-related field, or LPN credentials.
  • Minimum of 18 hours of coursework in early childhood education, psychology, social work, health, and/or child development.
  • Preferably 1 year of experience working with pregnant teens/women, parenting teens, and low-income families.
  • Experience in home visiting and prevention services for the 0-3 age population.
  • Certification and training in First Aid, CPR, Doula certification, and Infant/Toddler Development.
  • Knowledge of prenatal, labor, delivery, postpartum, maternal-infant health, and child abuse dynamics.
  • Personal vehicle for transportation; periodic weekend recruitment activities.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse cultures, family systems, and social backgrounds.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Teams).
  • Pass background clearance, physical, and TB test; valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and proof of liability insurance.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferably 1 year of experience working with pregnant teens/women, parenting teens, and low-income families.

Responsibilities

  • Provide home visiting services to families in designated areas.
  • Maintain open, friendly, and cooperative relationships with families, promoting parent-child bonding.
  • Adhere to safe work practices, agency policies, and regulations.
  • Keep Doula Supervisor informed and assist with family coordination of care.
  • Recruit and complete referrals for Doula program and Early Head Start programs.
  • Serve as a positive role model and build trusting relationships with parents and health care providers.
  • Provide direct services to prenatal, labor, delivery, postpartum, and parenting mothers.
  • Organize and coordinate prenatal groups and support clients through labor and delivery.
  • Maintain post-partum contact, support breastfeeding, and infant care.
  • Make appropriate referrals, provide community outreach, and advocate for participant families.
  • Other duties as assigned within the guidelines of this position.
