About The Position

The Communication Systems Engineer II researches, designs, develops, tests, and oversees the installation of electrical communication systems at Kennedy Space Center, including cabling, mission imagery systems (both photo and video imagery). This is a represented staff position with the IBEW Union.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree is required, plus two years’ experience or a Master’s Degree in Engineering and one year of relevant experience.
  • Knowledge of multiple operating systems; network management skills; cloud infrastructure proficiency experience preferred.
  • Strong understanding of Engineering principles and technologies.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen with the ability to pass a NASA background investigation.
  • Must be able to pass an initial and random drug testing.
  • Must have and maintain a valid Florida Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

  • Design and install cabling systems that support a wide variety of existing and future services.
  • Define pathways and spaces, administration standards, grounding and bonding and outside plant cabling.
  • Apply principles of transmission, structured cabling systems, codes, standards and regulations, electrical protection, fire stopping and cable system development.
  • Provides solutions to a variety of problems of moderate scope and complexity.
  • Works under general supervision.
