Assist in the development of materials to communicate the mission and goals of the Office of Science and Technology to internal and external constituents; Draft, edit and finalize documents using plain language that explains complex scientific or policy programs regarding natural resources for various audiences; Coordinate, develop and execute communications plans for internal and external communities; Support programmatic teams to identify and conceptualize ideas and materials needed to ensure goals and messages regarding NOAA Fisheries’ objectives and initiatives are conveyed to interested parties; Develop variety of written and online strategic messages, talking points and materials (e.g. brochures, factsheets, web stories) that explain scientific or technical information and nations and regional products, progress and success stories; Review and edit materials written by office staff to communicate technical information about our work to non-scientific audiences; Use contemporary computer technologies, web-based applications and content management tools to develop content and maintain webpages; Develop pro-active relationships with internal and external entities impacted by office priorities; Provide visual support to accompany web content and digital materials; Utilize various strategies (digital analytics, surveys, interviews, rapid feedback) to assess the effectiveness of communication efforts; Support development of scientific publications, scientific meeting communications and strategic planning documents.
