Hexcel is currently seeking a Communications Summer Intern to work with our Global Corporate and Marketing Communications team at our Headquarters in Stamford, CT, USA location. This internship will provide immersive, hands-on experience in business related communications that reach a variety of audiences, including employees, customers and other stakeholders. The role will focus on employee and executive communications, brand, and marketing communications activities, including social media, and other assignments related to Hexcel’s efforts to reach audiences with one voice. You will work directly with the Vice President of Global Corporate and Marketing Communications and will be assigned to work projects across the global team. The selected individual will be responsible for but not limited to the following obligations:

Requirements

  • Junior or higher level in a bachelor’s degree program from an accredited college or university in the field of communications, public relations, strategic/business communications or related field of study
  • Strong storytelling and content creation abilities with a keen eye for detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Experience with Microsoft Office products – PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Outlook and Copilot
  • Understanding of AP Stylebook writing style
  • Familiarity with digital creations tools and platforms. (Adobe Creative Suite preferred.)
  • Eligible candidates must be a: U.S. citizen, U.S. national, person lawfully admitted for permanent residence, temporary resident under sections 210(a) or 245(A) of the Immigration and Nationality Act, person admitted in refugee status, or person granted asylum.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting with the creation (drafting, editing, proofreading, and finalizing for publication) of a variety of communications to Hexcel employees, including written and digital communication mediums
  • Assisting with executive communications such as leadership messages, presentations, and speaking engagements
  • Creating social media content
  • Establishing, tracking and compiling metrics to gauge effectiveness of communications programs and initiatives
  • Preparing conference and trade show materials
  • Support various projects and perform additional tasks and duties as assigned
