About The Position

The Communications Specialist will work cross-functionally to develop and execute internal and external communication strategies as part of ECPI University’s overall efforts to enhance employee engagement, brand consistency, and organizational alignment. This role leads the development and deployment of enterprise-wide communications, ensuring messaging is clear, timely, accurate, and aligned with institutional priorities. The Communications Specialist will provide expertise and guidance to relevant teams while developing and promoting communication best practices. This position collaborates with partners across ECPI University Administration and campus locations to create messaging and content that reflect the University’s voice, brand identity, goals, and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

  • College degree in Communications, Marketing, or related field (Bachelor’s degree preferred)
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in communications, marketing, or related roles, with demonstrated success managing internal messaging initiatives
  • Experience building email templates, managing audience segmentation, and deploying communications through a CRM or marketing automation platform
  • Strong writing and editing skills required, with flexibility across writing styles including professional institutional voice and creative content development
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and meet deadlines
  • Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving and interpersonal communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Develop communication strategies and manage day-to-day internal messaging initiatives
  • Lead the creation and deployment of enterprise-wide employee communications, including institutional updates, operational announcements, and time-sensitive messaging
  • Conduct stakeholder discovery sessions, research communication needs, and formulate messaging solutions to ensure clarity, alignment, and effectiveness
  • Draft, edit, and manage written communications, ensuring consistency in tone, voice, and brand standards across channels
  • Deploy communications through the University’s CRM platform, managing audience segmentation, scheduling, formatting, and distribution processes
  • Partner with cross-functional teams across University Administration and campus locations to adopt communication best practices and maintain messaging consistency
  • Monitor communication effectiveness and engagement trends, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement
  • Support the development of external blogs, digital content, and other marketing materials as needed
  • Ensure communications align with institutional goals, policies, brand standards, and applicable regulatory guidelines
