What You’ll Do As the Communications Outreach Specialist, you will develop and execute communication strategies that amplify the Rural Health Transformation Program’s (RHTP) impact across Indiana. You will create compelling content for public-facing channels, coordinate media outreach, manage stakeholder communications, and support community engagement campaigns that build awareness of rural health transformation efforts. This role requires strong writing skills, creativity, and an understanding of how to reach diverse audiences — from rural community members and healthcare providers to state legislators and federal partners. You will work closely with IDOH communications leadership and initiative teams to ensure consistent, impactful messaging.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, marketing, or related field
  • Strong written communication skills with experience producing content for diverse audiences
  • Experience in community outreach, media relations, or public affairs
  • Ability to manage multiple communication projects simultaneously

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with public health or government communications preferred
