The Rawlins Police Department is looking for individuals with prior emergency communications experience to work in our Communications Center on a temporary part-time basis. Working an average of not more than 30 hours per week. We will offer a competitive wage for the qualified candidate. This position is temporary and will not offer overtime or benefits. We are looking for dedicated individuals to perform various communication duties and maintain public safety. The communications officer's responsibilities will include analyzing and transmitting appropriate information to law enforcement, fire, ambulance and other personnel. Communications Officers are responsible for answering 911 lines and non-emergent lines and taking the appropriate action for the caller by dispatching the appropriate agency. To be successful as a communications officer, you should have the ability to remain level-headed in stressful situations. An outstanding Communications Officer should be intuitive and able to exercise sound judgment. Provides general assistance to the public in preparing complaints and reports and in providing information Responding to emergency and non-emergency situations.
