About The Position

This position coordinates law enforcement communications for police officers, answers emergency calls for assistance, monitors building alarm system, dispatches police officers and coordinates fire and EMS workers as well. Serves as the point of contact for visitors to the police department and issues temporary parking permits to campus visitors.

Requirements

• Candidates for this position should possess strong communication skills, as well as the ability to relate clearly and concisely using various methods.
• Working with a diverse group of constituents, the Officer should have the ability to manage stressful situations with positive outcomes.
• Demonstrated experience in handling multiple priorities and making sound independent decisions.
• Experience with computer systems, police radios, and/or other associated office equipment.
• The ability to obtain certifications as a VCIN/NCIC operator, as well as DCJS dispatcher certification.
