About The Position

SEDA-Council of Governments, an economic development organization serving 11 Central Pennsylvania counties, is seeking a part-time Communications & Marketing Intern. In this role, you will be given the ability to work with several diverse departments throughout the organization. We believe in making Pennsylvania a better place – and we are looking for an intern who shares that same drive and passion.
Our organization houses nearly a dozen of various departments and fields from transportation services to business finance to community development (and much more). If you are looking to gain hands-on, real-life experience, our diverse organization is the place to gain that knowledge!
Position overview:
This position supports various communications and marketing projects. The intern may focus on some or all of the following areas based on interest and organizational needs.

Nice To Haves

• Applicants should be a Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or Design major.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
• Experience working in Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, or other creative software.
• The ability to manage multiple projects at once with attention to detail and efficiency.
• Excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Help develop strategies to amplify our message through various outlets.
• Assist in drafting, editing, and distributing press release for 10+ departments.
• Oversee, collaborate, and create social media pieces.
• Assist with gathering newsletter topics and compiling a monthly e-newsletter.
• Compile and maintain a repository of media hits.
• Measure the performance of social media accounts.
• Assist with the creation of PowerPoint presentations.
• Assist with planning and creating materials for internal and external events.
• Work collaboratively with various departments to enhance brand awareness.
