About The Position

The ImPact is a US-based nonprofit organization with team members spread around the world. We are looking for a Communications Manager to support shaping and stewarding The ImPact’s communications strategy, voice, and narrative coherence across member-facing and external channels. This is a remote full-time position. The Communications Manager role plays a central part in ensuring that how The ImPact communicates reflects the depth, values, and intent of the community, while remaining clear, accessible, and actionable. The individual will work closely with leadership, the member experiences team, and global community leads to translate complex ideas into compelling communications that support members, partners, and the organization’s long‑term vision. This is a hands-on role suited for someone who can think strategically, write well, and execute confidently in a small, global, mission-driven organization. The role reports to the Director of Experiences, while working closely with senior leadership across the organization. We are a global, remote team with team members based in the US, England, France, Chile, Brazil, and Singapore. We work across multiple time zones, and our core ways of working are anchored in a combination of virtual synchronous meetings and asynchronous discussion and collaboration in writing and using other virtual collaborative tools. We also believe that consistent in-person connection and collaboration are important for relationship building, team members’ professional growth, and effective work. Our global team meets in person at least once a year during a team retreat or at our global annual member events. The ImPact offers competitive salaried compensation, commensurate with experience and location, and generous benefits that vary by labor market. The base salary range for this role is $85,000-$100,000 USD for U.S.-based candidates. For those joining us from other regions, compensation is localized to your specific labor market. Offers are adjusted based on local market norms, cost of labor, and regional statutory requirements to ensure equitable pay across our global team.

Requirements

  • 5–7 years of experience in communications, marketing or content development (ideally in an investing or philanthropic context)
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills
  • Experience operating at both strategic and executional levels, and willing to own the full communications process independently
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft PowerPoint / Google Slides, a visual thinker who can create visually appealing presentations and content
  • Experience working cross-functionally in small or growing organizations
  • Strong judgment, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize
  • Experience leveraging generative AI and automation tools

Responsibilities

  • Support the development and ongoing refinement of The ImPact’s communications strategy
  • Serve as the day-to-day steward of The ImPact’s brand voice, tone, and messaging across channels
  • Develop and maintain simple messaging frameworks that help teams communicate consistently
  • Manage content on public and member-facing websites and portals
  • Translate complex ideas (impact investing, systems change, wealth management) into clear, engaging messaging and materials for organisational outputs such as events, training, and publications
  • Lead planning and production of core member-facing communications (e.g. newsletters, the member portal, and website content)
  • Write, edit, and finalize content, incorporating inputs from a global team
  • Maintain high standards of clarity, accuracy, and professionalism across all communications
  • Own quality control and the sign-off process
  • Create clear, visually engaging presentations and slide-based materials (PowerPoint / Google Slides) to support events, member communications, and workshops
  • Lead communications planning and execution for The ImPact’s global and regional events, including development of messaging timelines, invitations, registration communications, and post-event follow-up
  • Draft, edit, and manage event-related content such as agendas, session descriptions, speaker materials, and participant communications, ensuring clarity, consistency, and alignment with brand voice
  • Partner closely with the Events Manager to support event program design and participant experience and engagement
  • Partner with program and event leads to shape messaging for events, curriculum, and initiatives
  • Coordinate on communication inputs with external partners for initiatives and publications
  • Design and manage internal communications workflows (intake, prioritisation, review, sign‑off)
  • Manage competing priorities across time zones with clarity and calm
  • Communicate proactively to align expectations on timelines and outputs
  • Monitor feedback and engagement to inform ongoing improvements
  • Provide support on external-facing communications as organizational needs evolve
  • Support leadership with messaging preparation for public-facing engagements when relevant
  • Coordinate with external communications or PR partners as organizational needs evolve
