The communications manager works with the English Department leadership and faculty committee to direct public relations, digital communication, printed materials, and social media. Requirements

  • A firm commitment to the mission of BYU
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education/experience

  • Experience working in the liberal arts, specifically humanities, literature, composition, creating writing, etc.

Responsibilities

  • Create and manage digital and printed communication for students, faculty, and alumni, including weekly newsletter, curricular offerings, and special events.
  • Manage web and social media presence for the English Department, including programs under the department’s stewardship.
  • Manage promotions for English Department events such as the English Symposium, awards banquet, writing contests.
  • Create features and spotlights of English personnel, events, and accomplishments.
  • Collaborate with College of Humanities Digital Media and Communications team to stay current on policy and aligned with college standards.
  • As a member of the English Department support team, assist with department events as needed.
