About The Position

Leidos is seeking a communications professional to support two critical Defense capability areas: Airborne & Mission Solutions and Decision Advantage. This role will develop and execute internal and external communications that highlight how Leidos delivers mission-ready solutions that enhance military intelligence operations and accelerate decision advantage for the warfighter. Working closely with business leaders, this role will also work in tandem with the Defense communications team to ensure alignment with sector priorities, messaging, and brand standards. This is a hands-on, mid-level communications role for a strong writer and collaborator who is comfortable translating complex technical and operational concepts into clear, compelling narratives for both internal and external audiences.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or related field and 4+ years of professional communications experience (internal, corporate, or marketing). Additional years of experience will be considered in lieu of degree requirements.
  • Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills with attention to clarity and accuracy and using AP Style.
  • Experience creating content for digital platforms (e.g., intranet, web, social, presentations, email).
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with technical and leadership stakeholders.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint) and collaboration platforms (Teams, SharePoint).

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting defense, intelligence, or national security programs.
  • Familiarity with military intelligence operations, ISR platforms, mission software, or data analytics environments.
  • Experience translating highly technical content for non-technical audiences.
  • Experience using AI
  • Eligibility for a U.S. government security clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Internal & External Communications Develop and deliver communications that support Airborne & Mission Solutions and Decision Advantage priorities, initiatives, and business objectives.
  • Create content for internal and external channels, including announcements, intranet articles, newsletters, presentations, web copy, and social media content.
  • Ensure employees supporting these portfolios are informed, aligned, and engaged around mission priorities and achievements.
  • Technical & Mission Storytelling Translate complex concepts such as platform integration, mission software, intelligence operations, and multi-domain data analytics into accessible, mission-relevant narratives.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to gather information and develop accurate, compelling content.
  • Campaign & Event Support Support communications planning and execution for key initiatives, technology demonstrations, and industry events related to Airborne & Mission Solutions and Decision Advantage.
  • Develop messaging and collateral for trade shows, customer engagements, and internal forums.
  • Collaboration & Alignment Partner closely with the Defense communications team to ensure alignment with sector and enterprise messaging and coordinate with corporate communications & marketing and growth teams as needed to support integrated campaigns.
  • Ensure consistency with Leidos brand standards and communications best practices.
