This internship is unpaid and designed to support students or recent graduates seeking practical experience in the field. Candidates may be eligible to earn academic credit through their college or university. The Municipal Vulnerability Preparedness (MVP) Program is seeking a Communications Intern to join their team! The MVP Program Communications Intern will assist the MVP Deputy Director with various web and communications related tasks. This is a great opportunity to learn about content management and marketing/communications for public service. This internship opportunity is flexible and can be adjusted to fit the intern's schedule. Specific duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • The ability to learn and work independently.
  • Knowledge of climate change and climate resilience.
  • Knowledge of PDF accessibility remediation.
  • The ability to communicate complex topics with plain language a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Drafting and creating MVP Community Snapshot pages: https://www.mass.gov/lists/mvp-community-snapshots.
  • Identifying appropriate project deliverables and uploading to the ResilientMass Resource Database.
  • Remediating MVP Action Grant Case studies to meet accessibility requirements.
  • Drafting new content pages, as directed by the MVP Deputy Director.
  • Other web related tasks, as needed.
