Program Details Duration: 10-week internship from May 18 – July 24, 2026 Schedule: Full-time (40 hours/week) Work Environment: Hybrid – remote work from the state of North Carolina with onsite events at our Durham campus Residency Requirement: Interns must reside in the state of North Carolina for the duration of the program Experience: Hands-on project work that supports our customers and strengthens communities across North Carolina Mentorship: Interns are paired with a mentor and receive regular feedback to support their development

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in a degree seeking academic program, ideally in Communications, Journalism, or related fields
• Strong curiosity, drive, and ability to work independently and collaboratively
• Excellent time management and communication skills

Nice To Haves

• Experience leveraging social media tools such as LinkedIn, X, and others
• Prior internship or project experience in corporate communications or journalism
• Creative thinking and writing skills

Responsibilities

• support a variety of corporate communications initiatives across the organization
• assist with reputation management, helping monitor public sentiment and contribute to proactive storytelling that strengthens the company’s brand
• play a key role in issues management, supporting rapid response communications needs, drafting messaging, and helping track emerging issues
• contribute to provider communications, helping develop clear, timely, and accurate materials tailored to strengthen and support our workforce
