Requirements

  • Applicants must be currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program and entering junior or senior status by Fall 2026 or be enrolled in a graduate-level program.
  • Interest in communications, public engagement, urban/regional planning, or related field

Responsibilities

  • Assist in drafting, editing, and quality assurance of key messages, including web and social content, newsletters, media monitoring, policy briefs, press releases, graphic design, and publicity materials.
  • Assist with logistics and staffing for public engagement events, in CMAP’s offices and/or regional locations, including support for the Future Leaders in Planning summer immersion program.
  • Attend and actively participate in team meetings, offering insights and suggestions for strategy, innovation, and improvements.
  • Gain hands on experience with the opportunity to apply theoretical knowledge to real-life situations. Assist in the planning and execution of various agency projects. Grow as a communications and engagement professional.
