About The Position

As a member of the Marketing & Communications (MARCOM) team, the Communications & Design Strategist is responsible for shaping and executing Arylessence internal and external communications across key channels, including social media, internal intranet platform, presentations, and digital platforms. This role blends strategy, creativity, and hands-on execution - ideal for someone passionate about communications, visual story telling, and messaging that supports business goals. This position requires both analytical and creative thinking, a problem-solving mindset, and a desire to continuously improve how the company communicates. This position also offers opportunities to build skills across broader communication functions, customer support initiatives, and category-specific projects based on interest and experience.

Requirements

  • 2–3 years of experience in communications, marketing, design, or related creative roles.
  • Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Willingness and ability to quickly learn new tools, including Adobe InDesign, which is used regularly by the team.
  • Highly organized, dependable, and comfortable managing multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, emotional intelligence, and a collaborative working style.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, etc.) is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Canva or other content-creation platforms is helpful.
  • Exposure to corporate communications, intranet platforms, or website content management is beneficial.
  • Interest in consumer products, fragrance, personal care, or beauty categories is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the development and execution of communication strategies across social media, the company intranet, presentations, and digital materials.
  • Own day-to-day execution while thinking strategically about how each channel can evolve and improve over time.
  • Translate business objectives into clear, engaging, and on-brand messaging.
  • Write, edit, and proofread content with strong attention to grammar, clarity, tone, and audience relevance.
  • Partner closely with the MARCOM department head to ensure communications are intentional, consistent, and aligned with broader priorities.
  • Design and format presentations, documents, and marketing materials used across the organization.
  • Work regularly in Adobe InDesign, the team’s primary presentation and layout tool. Prior InDesign experience is welcomed, but candidates who can demonstrate strong visual layout skills and the ability to learn quickly are encouraged to apply.
  • Apply brand standards thoughtfully and consistently across layouts, templates, and visual assets.
  • Bring perspective on design tools and workflows — Canva is currently used for social media and intranet content, but the team is open to other tools and approaches based on experience and recommendations.
  • Partner with the department head as a trusted quality-control checkpoint for marketing and communications materials prior to distribution.
  • Review materials produced by peers to ensure: Brand consistency and strong visual presentation Accuracy and completeness of information (e.g., item numbers, naming, key details) Alignment with intended audience and communication goals
  • Provide backup support for project calendars, workflow coordination, editing, and spillover needs during peak periods.
  • Play an active role in helping shape and support a planned corporate website refresh as part of a collaborative, cross-functional initiative.
  • Contribute to content strategy, organization, review, and internal alignment.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external partners; this role will help drive direction and coordination, not own technical development.
  • Work closely with HR on internal communications, campus initiatives, and event-related materials.
  • Support select customer-facing projects and collaborate with trade and industry partners as experience and interest grow.
