About The Position

GenPride’s Communications Coordinator is an interim position that centers aging, racial, and LGBTQ+ justice to mobilize, strengthen, and build GenPride’s network of individuals and organizations through messaging development, digital and print communications community-centric principles. This part-time , temporary independent contract position works primarily remotely, with at least one day in-person weekly . The Communic ations Coordinator’s schedule includes some early morning, evening, and weekend hours. This position reports to the Commu nit y Giving Manager and engages staff, partners, participants, volunteers, board members, and supporters to meet goals. ABOUT GENPRIDE GenPride advocates for the unique needs of older LGBTQIA2S+ adults in Seattle and King County, and offers innovative programs and services that promote well-being, prevent social isolation, and cultivate belonging, justice, and liberation .

Requirements

  • At least two years of experience coordinating and managing communications projects in a professional setting.
  • Strong and versatile communication and storytelling skills, including writing, speaking, and synthesizing information for various audiences.
  • A deep commitment to racial, aging, and LGBTQ+ justice and experience working with people with a breadth of lived experiences, especially those who are disproportionately impacted by injustices, including elder, LGBTQ+ and BIPOC folks .
  • Experience with bulk email and donor management platforms, as well as strong skills across social media platform use and best practices.
  • Ability to authentically connect with GenPride's mission and aspirations through your personal experiences .
  • Outstanding organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities.
  • Ability to work well in a collaborative environment, willing to communicate and welcome ideas and suggestions.
  • Proficiency with social media, digital mail, Salesforce, Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint) and Adobe Suite, and willingness to adapt to new technologies .

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate communications strategies to elevate GenPride’s voice and drive our engagement strategies to meet established goals.
  • Assist with GenPride’s internal and external messaging to expand and deepen connection to our work, including digital and printed content creation curation for a variety of sources like the e-newsletter, website , social media channels.
  • Collaborate widely with staff, volunteers, community partners to develop, prioritize, and implement key communications plans, messages, and organizational storytelling.
  • Coordinate organization-wide communications calendar to ensure effective and strategic use of publications, email campaigns, social media, and other platforms.
  • Manage donor and communications data, lists, mail merge , and reports.
  • Manage communications engagement processes for donors and for newsletter subscribers using agency CRM and other technology platforms.
