About The Position

The Communications Coordinator supports LifeCenter Northwest’s mission as an integral member of the communications team, developing compelling stories, graphics, and educational materials that raise awareness about the lifesaving power of organ, eye, and tissue donation. This role provides essential support across multiple communication channels, including content creation for external audiences, internal employee engagement through the intranet and weekly newsletters, and coordination with hospitals, media, and legislators. The Communications Coordinator will contribute copywriting, editing, story development, graphic design, digital content management, intranet maintenance and social media expertise to advance organizational goals and inspire donor registration.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in MS Office suite required
  • Working knowledge of SharePoint and Adobe Creative Suite, including InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator and Premiere Pro
  • Project management skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Excellent written and verbal skills, including the ability to prepare correspondence, stories, and/or presentations with minimal supervision
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively across departments
  • Strong organizational skills and time management skills with ability to meet deadlines independently
  • Demonstrated initiative and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to analyze situations, identify solutions and adapt to evolving priorities
  • Proven ability to thrive in a continuously evolving and at times ambiguous environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Prefer completion of a BA degree with an emphasis on writing, communications, online or print marketing, journalism or public relations, or similar experience in the field.
  • Relevant work experience can be considered and substituted for academic requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains and updates the employee intranet, ensuring content is current, relevant, and accessible
  • Makes regular updates to SharePoint, including posting announcements, resources, and organizational information
  • Supports the production and distribution of weekly employee newsletters to keep staff informed and engaged
  • Collaborates with department leads to gather and internal news, updates, and content for employee-facing channels
  • Interviews, writes, and edits stories featuring staff, donor families, and recipients that highlight the impact of organ, eye, and tissue donation
  • Assists with content development and posting for LifeCenter’s social media accounts and website, ensuring consistent messaging and brand voice
  • Maintains current knowledge of industry trends, news, and developments in organ, eye, and tissue donation and transplantation
  • Supports the development of outreach campaigns, helping to set goals that increase followers and donation awareness
  • Monitors and reports on the effectiveness of promotional efforts across digital channels
  • Produces and supports high-quality photography and videography to enhance organizational storytelling and communications efforts
  • Creates graphic design materials including flyers, social media graphics, and event invitations
