About The Position

The Dolores Huerta Foundation is seeking a Communications Coordinator to support digital communications, media relations, and development communications. This role plays a key part in advancing DHF’s organizing, advocacy, and fundraising efforts through coordinated messaging, media engagement, and digital outreach.

Requirements

  • 2+ years experience in communications, digital media, or nonprofit communications
  • Strong writing, organizational, and time-management skills
  • Experience with email platforms, social media, and CRM systems
  • Familiarity with media relations workflows
  • Commitment to social justice and community-based work

Nice To Haves

  • Basic video editing and design skills preferred
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate social media, email, and website content and campaigns
  • Serve as the initial point of contact for media inquiries and interview requests
  • Prioritize and coordinate approved interviews and communicate professional rejections as needed
  • Build and maintain email campaigns and digital content calendars
  • Support CRM maintenance, segmentation, and data integrity
  • Assist with donor and fundraising communications
  • Create and edit multimedia content, including short-form video
  • Track and report on digital engagement and campaign performance
