About The Position

The Communications & Content Professional drives the development, planning, and execution of communications that supports employee alignment, organizational culture and brand consistency. The role manages core internal communication channels, creates compelling content across formats, and ensures timely, accurate messaging for initiatives, events, and organizational priorities. The role supports the day-to-day execution and upkeep of the credit union’s intranet by helping ensure content is accurate, organized, and accessible. Operating with a high degree of autonomy, the Communications & Content Professional works on assigned projects and exercises sound judgment in managing priorities and deadlines. In collaboration with partners including but not limited to Human Resources, Marketing, Community Impact, and Learning & Development, this role supports the department’s growing needs in content development, elevation of storytelling, strengthening internal communication processes, and maintaining the systems and tools that support a consistent employee experience. This role also contributes to select external communications efforts and public relations activities as needed.

Requirements

  • 4-6 years of experience in communications, content strategy, or public relations; experience managing or contributing to intranet content preferred.
  • Excellent knowledge of all aspects of basic communication practices, internal communication strategies, and content creation fundamentals.
  • Knowledge of digital communication tools.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and content development skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, intranet CMS tools, and visual content platforms such as Canva or Adobe Express.
  • Strong project management and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and collaborate across departments.
  • Organized, creative, and detail-oriented with strong follow-through.
  • Ability to operate standard office equipment.
  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, Media, or related field, or equivalent experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Base knowledge of Financial Institution operations, services, and products preferred.
  • Experience working in financial institution or corporate communications preferred.
