About The Position

The Communications and Content Manager reports to the Director of Community Engagement and plays a key role in telling the Dream Centers story across multiple platforms. This position leads the creation and coordination of content that strengthens brand identity, deepens community connection, and supports organizational growth. Working closely with internal teams and external marketing partners, this role will manage the development and distribution of written, visual, and digital content that reflects the heart and mission of Dream Centers. The Communications and Content Manager helps ensure that every piece of communication, whether an email, social media post, newsletter, campaign story, or video, conveys hope, excellence, and authenticity. This role requires strong writing and editing skills, creativity in message development, and a deep understanding of how storytelling inspires engagement and generosity.

Requirements

  • Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling ability with strong attention to tone and detail.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing multiple content channels, including social media and email.
  • Comfortable collaborating with both internal teams and external vendors or agencies.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage deadlines.
  • Familiarity with digital marketing platforms, CRM systems, and design tools (Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar).
  • A heart for the mission of Dream Centers and a mature, active Christian faith.
  • Professional, relational, and team-oriented approach with a high degree of initiative.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field preferred.
  • 3–5 years of experience in communications, content creation, or marketing, ideally within a nonprofit or mission-driven organization.
  • Experience working with storytelling, digital media, and/or brand management preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a content plan that reflects the voice and mission of Dream Centers across all communication channels.
  • Partner with program staff to identify, capture, and share compelling stories of transformation that honor the dignity of participants while inspiring donors, volunteers, and community partners.
  • Write and edit a variety of content including newsletters, campaign materials, website updates, press releases, talking points, and donor communications.
  • Maintain a library of photos, stories, and assets to support ongoing marketing and development needs.
  • Work with photographers, videographers, and creative vendors to produce high-quality storytelling materials.
  • Work alongside internal teams and external marketing partners to uphold brand consistency and excellence throughout Dream Centers communications.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Community Engagement to align communications with overall advancement goals, campaigns, and donor engagement efforts.
  • Provide creative input and quality control for branded collateral, graphics, and digital materials.
  • Assist in maintaining an up-to-date website presence with timely, relevant content.
  • Support and manage an organic social media strategy that reflects Dream Centers’ mission and tone, fostering authentic connection with our audience.
  • Assist in planning and scheduling posts, managing engagement, and tracking basic metrics to inform future content.
  • Work with program teams to amplify organizational milestones, events, and impact stories through digital channels.
  • Support organizational communication needs including internal updates, board materials, presentations, and media coordination.
  • Assist with event promotion and follow-up content, including recaps, thank-you messages, and post-event storytelling.
  • Collaborate with the entire Advancement team to support donor communications, including email campaigns, impact reports, and special announcements.
  • Track engagement metrics across social media, web, and email platforms to evaluate effectiveness.
  • Recommend new strategies or content ideas based on data and audience response.
