About The Position

The Communications Specialist, in close collaboration with department and network leadership, creates and implements cohesive and effective internal and external communications that inform a ride range of stakeholders - including patients, the publish, caregivers, and donors- of key topics and news, goals, initiatives, and activities in a consistent, timely manner. Maintains and enhances current communications vehicles and develops new channels and tactics that enhance effective communications. Collaborates with colleagues to ensure cohesive messaging including external marketing communications and content pieces. Works closely with system, regional, and local leadership, including close collaboration with the President/CEO and executive leadership, in fulfilling key job responsibilities. Reports to Director of Public Relations. Assists with developing, implementing, and maintaining comprehensive and integrated internal and external communications plans for the health system, and recommend development and maintenance of appropriate channels to deliver organizational messaging. Writes and edits leadership communications to internal audiences (practitioners and staff). These include announcements related to organizational structure and transitions in leadership, policy or practice changes that affect employee compensation and benefits, issues that threaten the stability or focus of the workforce, and updates on major change management initiatives. Works with internal teams to maximize the effective reach of all internal communications targeted to employees. Facilitates urgent clinical or emergency messaging. Works with department leadership to develop goals and quantifiable measures of the effectiveness of internal communications and implement tools for ensuring consistent measurement of outcomes and feedback from employees. Serves as an internal and external communications consultant/advisor to departments, sections, programs and/or strategic initiatives where a comprehensive approach to internal and external communications is critical to success. Develops content for external facing marketing communications as needed, including press releases, public services announcements, web copy, social media, and other collateral. Perform other duties as required or assigned.

Requirements

  • 4 Year / Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations or related field, required
  • Experience may be considered in lieu of education
