About The Position

We’re currently seeking a Communication Designer to join our HR Communications team. The Capital One HR Communications team is responsible for HR's communications strategy and execution. Our core goal is to deliver high-quality, consumer-grade associate experiences that propel talent and business imperatives. Role Expectations As a Communication Designer, you’ll combine your craft expertise with an understanding of our customers and the business to co-create innovative solutions to complex problems. Here are some of the expected competencies for this role:

Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience with UI and UX design
• At least 3 years of experience with design and prototyping tools, such as Figma

Nice To Haves

• At least 4 years of experience in a UI and UX design role
• At least 4 years of experience with motion graphics or video editing
• At least 4 years of experience with design and prototyping tools, such as Figma
• At least 4 years of experience collaborating with cross functional business partners
• At least 4 years of experience working with an established design system

Responsibilities

• Leverage deep expertise in communication strategy and design—using skills across UX and visual design, messaging and multi-channel strategy.
• Elevate the quality and maturity of the communications practice at Capital One through collaboration with cross-functional partners, utilizing appropriate tools, platforms, frameworks and design systems working with teams to create artifacts that may include journey maps, high-fidelity designs and prototypes, creative concepts, story boards, graphic elements, illustrations, animations and videos, as well as finished communications materials in multiple channels.
• Champion the customer through the design process, leveraging critical-thinking skills that factor in data, research insights, scalability, tech constraints and feedback
• Understand and apply business and customer strategy, facilitate design process activities with team and partners, negotiating customer needs and business goals for harmonious outcomes
• Actively build an understanding of the potential of tech and data capabilities and emerging technologies and use this knowledge to inform work, identify new opportunities and help your team navigate technical limitations
• Foster relationships with partners and continuously expand your network, listening to diverse points of view and collaborating with an informed perspective to influence outcomes, break down silos and gain alignment
• Present work to audiences across levels and job functions using a human-centered approach that integrates design frameworks, data and research insights to effectively articulate insights and design decisions
