About The Position

The Commodity Resource Manager oversees and manages a Commodities/Recycling program for a customer contract. The incumbent provides daily oversight and guidance to a technician, who will assist with the Commodities/Recycling program. The Commodity Resource Manager collaborates with a diverse team to provide customer service and handle various company-related tasks, including reporting, data entry, and fostering close working relationships with vendors. Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Ability to build a rapport with associates and managers.
  • Detail-oriented, with a high level of accuracy, and the ability to detect inconsistencies in data.
  • Knowledge of the Microsoft suite of applications.
  • Knowledgeable waste characterization principles and practices, including analysis and evaluation, waste processing protocols, and transportation regulations.
  • Knowledge of RCRA as it relates to waste characterization and waste processing protocols.
  • Familiarity with DOT regulations.
  • Ability to identify trends and data patterns
  • Ability to coordinate and manage multiple projects, working within a team environment, and handle multiple assignments simultaneously.
  • Ability to drive Industrial powered equipment (Fork Truck, Burden Carrier, etc.).
  • Knowledge of the MS Office Suite.
  • 4 - 7 years of overall relevant work experience.
  • Experience with project management.

Responsibilities

  • Works with customers as the initial contact to understand their Commodities/recycling program needs and provides excellent service.
  • Meets with customers to discuss accounts, present disposal options, or assist during audits.
  • Communicates and answers questions related to waste acceptance capabilities, disposal options, and the range of pricing.
  • Coordinates communications to respond to customers’ inquiries.
  • Assists and advises customer service representatives.
  • Works closely with sales/operations teams to propose customer solutions compliant with appropriate local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Manages the day-to-day operations of a commodities program, including providing guidance to technicians and handling reporting and data entry.
  • Manages budgets, tracks the performance of resources, and ensures adherence to project-approved budgets.
  • Develops and implements effective strategies for commodity sourcing and program management.
  • Other non-essential duties as assigned or may be necessary.
