In this position... The Ford Electrified Powertrain Engineering team is looking for qualified candidates to perform powertrain calibration duties on Gasoline/Electric Hybrid applications. Ford Calibrators work in a team environment to deliver production ready powertrain calibrations on time with efficiency and quality. Responsibilities include laboratory and in vehicle development at testing facilities in Michigan, Arizona, Colorado, Florida, and Canada.

Requirements

  • B.S. Engineering (BSME or BSEE) or a related field
  • 5+ Years of experience with Calibration Tools including ETAS and/or ATI, and Matlab
  • 5+ Years of calibration experience
  • 15% Travel - Responsibilities include laboratory and in vehicle development at testing facilities in Michigan, Arizona, Colorado, Florida, and Canada.
  • Valid Driver’s License required
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills
  • Self- motivated with the ability to manage multiple tasks

Nice To Haves

  • Combustion Engine Aftertreatment Experience preferred
  • Strong statistical knowledge
  • Familiarity with Emission Regulatory Requirements Worldwide
  • Hybrid calibration experience
  • Ability to read and understand Simulink flow diagrams and C programming source code

Responsibilities

  • Engine, Drivability, or Diagnostic Powertrain Calibration
  • Evaluate and assess vehicle attributes (performance, fuel economy, emissions, drivability) on vehicle, engine dynamometer test cells, and environmental test cells.
  • Modify vehicle and powertrain control calibrations to improve fuel economy, performance, emissions, drivability, and diagnostics
  • Conduct vehicle testing and development in S.E. Michigan and at locations in Arizona, Colorado, Florida and Northern Canada
  • Design and conduct tests to validate engine and vehicle fuel economy, performance, emissions, drivability, and diagnostics
  • Review warranty data to identify emerging trends and develop corrective actions
