Manufacturing Supply Chain provides leadership and assistance to develop materials, logistics and manufacturing strategies to achieve the business plan for strategically located manufacturing facilities in North America and numerous outsourced fabricators and suppliers. The Commodity Buyer I procures specified buyout items in a timely manner and manages supplier relationships. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Purchasing experience
  • Material planning experience
  • Knowledge of raw materials with an emphasis on steel and construction materials
  • Knowledge of metal building components and end uses

Nice To Haves

  • College degree in a technical discipline

Responsibilities

  • Issue Purchase Orders and review invoices
  • Manage supplier issues
  • Conduct regular vendor meetings to review performance and identify areas of improvement
  • Maintain and communicate lead-time documents and monitor on time vendor deliveries
  • Track forecast vs. actual deliveries and update and maintain price documents
  • Run monthly queries, maintain raw material specification documents, review inventory planning model, and balance commitments and forecasting documents with inventory targets
  • Provide and maintain accurate forecast
  • Recommend and assist in ERP settings
  • Assist in removal of distressed inventory for each plant
  • Provide input into the forecast for centrally planned commodities
  • Manage special project requirements
