Location: Site based (Northwest Texas initially), 80% plus travel Compensation: Hourly with overtime eligibility and per diem We're looking for highly skilled and motivated Commissioning Technician II to join our best in class team and play a critical role in bringing complex projects to life. In this position, you'll be responsible for managing project technician during all stages of construction and installation, ensuring that all systems and equipment are installed, tested, and operate according to specifications and client requirements.

Requirements

  • Strong understanding of electrical schematics, power distribution, and BESS components.
  • Experience in electrical testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning procedures.
  • Experience with Medium Voltage switching procedures.
  • Associate degree, military training, technical or equivalent experience in electrical/mechanical systems.
  • Ability to be site based 8 weeks on, 1 week off.

Nice To Haves

  • Safety certifications (OSHA 30, OSHA 10, NFPA 70E, First Aid, CPR, AED) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee field installation quality, ensuring electrical and mechanical components meet design specifications.
  • Manage small team of 1-3 technicians to support project initiatives
  • Participate within a culture of safety for all team members, complying with Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) and Lock out tag out (LOTO) programs, maintaining zero recordable injuries.
  • Perform initial power-up and low-voltage testing.
  • Execute system wiring verification, sensor calibration, and communication checks.
  • Assist engineers in functional testing and troubleshooting.
  • Maintain tool and equipment readiness for commissioning tasks.
  • Proficient in the safe use of standard hand tools (wrenches, screwdrivers, pliers, torque tools, etc.) for assembly, installation, and adjustment of equipment.
  • Ability to operate specialized electrical diagnostic tools, including but not limited to digital multimeters, clamp meters, insulation resistance testers, and other measurement devices commonly used in battery energy storage systems.
