About The Position

Westfalia Technologies is a leader in providing solutions for plants, warehouses, and distribution centers. We are seeking a dedicated and customer-focused Commissioning Technician II to join our team! The Commissioning Technician II is an experienced commissioning resource responsible for executing complex technical tasks with minimal oversight. This role includes troubleshooting, system testing, and vendor coordination. The technician also mentors junior employees and may assist in the commissioning of specialty equipment. Location Requirements: Must live in one of the following states to be considered: AR, CA, CO, DE, FL, GA, IA, ID, IL, IN, KS, KY, MA, MD, ME, MI, MO, MS, NC, NE, NH, NJ, OH, OK, PA, SC, SD, UT, VA, VT, WI.

Requirements

  • Proficient with Studio 5000 using structured text and ladder logic.
  • Works independently to debug PLC code and optimize equipment
  • Proficient in electrical troubleshooting, system testing, and software interfaces.
  • Strong documentation and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with commissioning best practices
  • Must have a valid driver’s license
  • Fit for air travel and legal eligibility to rent and operate a rental vehicle through the company’s corporate account, in compliance with rental agency policies and insurance requirements.
  • 2–4 years of field commissioning or controls experience.
  • Lift up to 50 lbs, work in elevated environments, and operate diagnostic tools.
  • Frequent bending, climbing, and standing in industrial environments.
  • 75–90% travel expected.
  • Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with WTI systems (Preferred, would require training for external candidates).

Responsibilities

  • Independently perform commissioning tasks and support non-standard system issues.
  • Troubleshoot using schematics, meters, and PLC programs.
  • Collaborate with 3rd party vendors to validate and test interface logic.
  • Escalate unresolved issues appropriately.
  • Support the commissioning of PSB, Transfer Cars, and other specialty systems.
  • Mentor junior team members and contribute to knowledge-sharing.
  • Provide installer training and conduct on-site installation quality audits.
