As a Cx Senior Project Manager, you will lead high‑scope, high‑complexity commissioning projects and programs-serving as the primary client contact, trusted advisor, and integrator of people, product, and profit. You will plan and execute the work, proactively manage financials, mentor Project Managers I and II, and ensure projects are delivered to SSR's quality standards and client expectations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, or related field
  • Fifteen years of project experience, including experience in commissioning
  • Registered Professional Engineer preferred

  • Proven success leading complex, multi‑discipline commissioning programs and mentoring Project Managers.
  • Executive‑level communication, presentation, and negotiation skills; concise technical writing.
  • Advanced business acumen with command of pricing strategies, fee burn, earned value, forecasting, and AR.
  • Experience directing proposals and interviews with Marketing and technical leaders.
  • Ability to analyze trade‑offs, mitigate risk, and drive timely, well‑informed decisions across stakeholders.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and familiarity with scheduling, resource planning, and commissioning/project platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Confirm project scope and requirements with the client and stakeholders; communicate scope and expectations to the team.
  • Identify commissioning activities, develop schedules, and monitor manpower requirements across projects.
  • Coordinate activities of the commissioning team, designers, and contractors during design and construction phases.
  • Organize and lead meetings with contractors, clients, and the Cx team to plan work, review progress, and resolve issues.
  • Facilitate clear communication between the client and project team; document decisions, issues, and actions.
  • Manage commissioning plans composed of pre‑functional checklists, functional performance tests, training matrices, and supporting documentation.
  • Participate in planning and budgeting, including monthly billing projections and budget metrics.
  • Oversee project profitability: negotiate fees and contracts as appropriate, ensure timely/accurate invoices, and monitor accounts receivable.
  • Prepare final commissioning reports that document all activities, findings, and resolutions.
  • Serve as a technical expert to support Cx activities and demonstrate competence to clients; help set strategic direction for the team.
  • Anticipate issues affecting client or SSR expectations and address proactively as a trusted advisor.
  • Assist contractors in diagnosing non‑compliant equipment/system performance; document follow‑up work and retesting.
  • Perform site visits to investigate field conditions, monitor progress, and verify conformance to design intent, owner expectations, and code.
  • Coordinate and conduct opposed‑season testing and warranty reviews as required.
  • Verify preventative maintenance materials and record documents for commissioned systems are collected and delivered to the owner.
  • Supervise project close‑out to ensure documentation, lessons learned, and filings are complete.
  • Train, mentor, and help evaluate less experienced colleagues; model safety, professionalism, and quality standards.
