We're looking for new team members with positive attitudes and an eagerness to learn who are as excited about good food & GOOD VIBES. We’re hiring a Commissary Manager in Chicago! The Commissary Manager is a key leadership position responsible for overseeing the production, standards, and quality of commissary production. This role will be responsible for creating an efficient work environment and ensuring all commissary orders are fulfilled accurately and on time. You will be responsible for supporting high operational standards by continuing to hold yourself and your team members to the provided checklists, recipe specs, and other standardized tools. You’ll lead by example and hold all team members accountable for their performance and product output, and do so through our Core Values (“VIBES”). Requirements

  • 4+ years experience as a baker or prep cook in a food production space
  • 2+ year experience as manager in a food production space
  • Have a good understanding of P&L, COGS, decision making, process improvement, labor/scheduling, training & team development, food quality standards
  • Time management skills to deliver quality products on schedule
  • Have ServeSafe Manager’s Food Safety Certification
  • Can coordinate multiple tasks such as food and labor costs while maintaining required standards of operation in daily shop activities
  • Are hospitality-oriented and hold a passion for the guest experience
  • Flexibility – proactively manage your schedule to support the needs of the business, which can include weekends, holidays, evenings, and potential overnight shifts
  • Outstanding leadership skills and ability to motivate a diverse team in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to attract, develop, and retain high performing team members
  • Positive attitude and passion for food required!
  • Believe in a hands-on managing style and be willing to lead by example

Responsibilities

  • Communicate the vision of Call Your Mother to managers and teams and ensure that our vision is executed every day.
  • Lead and oversee all Commissary operations, including production, distribution, and quality assurance.
  • Oversee labor, inventory, and food cost management to ensure profitability, while maintaining high-quality standards and team satisfaction.
  • Ensure that all commissaries comply with health and safety regulations, food safety standards, training and development plans, and company policies.
  • Analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) across commissaries to identify trends, opportunities for improvement, and ensure that all operational targets are met or exceeded.
  • Quick to react to financial opportunities related to production cost and labor costs.
  • Support leaders to ensure that equipment and facilities are maintained at standards necessary to ensure smooth operations and safe working conditions.
  • Identify team members with high potential and ensure that training plans are created and implemented to help develop our future leaders.
  • Conduct monthly business reviews with the leadership team to review P&Ls, surface customer insights, areas of improvement, and plans to grow the business.
  • Maintain constant feedback loops between all relevant stakeholders to maintain an extremely high level of accuracy, food quality, and communication.
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship for direct report managers.
  • Be a voice of calm and confidence in high-pressure situations and demonstrate leadership through adept problem-solving.
